Perfect, except...

Love this app, its perfect except that trying to view the image in a larger size does not work.

Very limited capabilities

I purchased this to make organizing my photos easier, but this doesnt really help me do that. Im still using the Flickr website to get things done. Specific issues: - No negative searches. i.e. "Items not geotagged", "Items not in a set", etc. - No complex searches. i.e. "Items in both these sets" - Cached EXIF data wont refresh, even after I clear the cache. - No way to search by a specific EXIF data tag. - No way to remove an item from a set. This makes no sense at all. - No way to see all the sets a item is a member of. - No way to move an item from one set to another – copy only, but then you are unable to remove it from the original set. - No way to quickly see if an item is geotagged. You have to open a map and look for the pin on each and every photo. - No way to set the Lat/Long of an item – You must pick a spot on a map. - No way to upload directly into the right set. You must first upload and then move it into a set. - Not capable of reading the geotag on a video file (.mov via iPhone4) and therefore uploads videos with that information stripped. - It tags every upload with a link back to the developers website. This app is targeted toward people who are creating new sets and uploading new photos. Im sure it works fine for that. But to organize photos already uploaded is not possible given the limited ability to work with sets, making this a complete waste of money for me.

Must have app for Flickr Users

I really like to use this app to upload and view my photos on Flickr. It will take my photos from iPhoto or on my mac and send them to Flickr. I know that I can do this with iPhoto, but doing it will iPhoto does not work as smooth. This is much better. I can also view my Photostream in this app, and do way a whole bunch more. This app is a must for people that use Flickr. Oh and the maker of this app answers his emails if you need help.

Needs ability to view ALL pictures in full-screen mode

Great app. Only one thing. When going through the daily "Interestingness" photos on Explore, you have to drop out of full screen to go to the next set of 100 photos. There needs to be a way to get around the 100 photo limit, that is, be able to look at all 500 daily "Interestingness" photos at once. Or failing that, a way to get to the next group of 100 w/o having to get out of full screen, dropping down into the Flickr browser, hitting the right arrow for the next set of 100 photos, and then getting back into full screen If this was fixed, Id have no hesitation giving it a higher rating.

Great way to study photography

Im a continual learner of all things photography. I use Flicky to browser images every morning of Flickr groups I am a member of to get inspired. If theres one feature that needs some work its naviigating in Flick groups. Theres no way to bookmark the last page you viewed in a group or go to a specific page in a group. When start browsing groups that have 500 pages it starts to be tedious when you have to start at page 1 all the time. Ive contacted the developer about this and its something hes aware of and wants to improve. Kudos for the developer for getting back with questions in a very timely manner. I wish all developers were as responsive as this one. I would give it six stars if I could, since I cant it only gets five :)

Good App

I dont use this app often, but it certainly works as expected. I was impressed.

Very happy iPhoto user

So, I was looking non-stop for an app that has import & export functionality with iPhoto and Flickr, and flickery is pretty much a perfect fit. I love how you can download photos from Flickr right to iPhoto, and how it exports photos from iPhoto to flickery and then right to Flickr. I also like how it looks and acts just like iPhoto, it makes my wife and newbie-Mac user figure it out very easily. Its really awesome. The photos have a really nice blur/fade-in transition when uploading to Flickr. However, I did notice an issue where Im trying to upload videos longer than 90 seconds. 90 seconds was Flickrs old time limit on video uploads, but now it is 3 minutes, and flickery does not allow me to upload videos longer than 90 seconds. Hopefully this will be updated soon. As part of my photo transition to the cloud and off my Mac Air (SSD space is still super expensive!), this process would not be possible without flickery. I very much thank the developer for making what is now one of my favorite apps. Kudos!

Unintelligent batch downloading of sets

Flickery wont download sets in their original folders. You have to select and download all the images directly instead of just selecting the sets you want to download and have them download into the same folders as the set names. I didnt bother putting organizing all my images into sets just so you could lose this organization in the download.

best app of the worst

I can’t believe non of the flickr apps worth $1 and all app’s developers abandoned their lousy apps. It uploaded 1-2 batch and then it completely stop working. Upload button doesn’t do anything.

over all, very buggy

First day review: Uploading unreliable… two crashes in 3 attempts. Successfully uploaded 10 pix, attempted 57. I was hoping that upload function would be worth the money, since other upload methods to the new flickr, including flickrs’ own, are buggy as well. *thumbs down* perhaps the problem COULD be on flickr’s end. I added two new faves to my fave list from the flickr website… even though I opened the app AFTER the two new faves were faved, they didn’t show up in the app until i cleared the cache, even if i left the page, left the faves section, etc… everything short of re-opening the app. Search results are erratic… same search returns different results on same data. Only shows comments for the last week- no setting to change that. Only shows a few of the recent uploads of my contacts. No setting for how many for each contact. I haven’t yet found the “secret” of how many are displayed. Comment text WAY WAY too small- no adjustment setting. Buddy icon on comments displays as html text, not as icon… makes reading comments even more difficult and confusing. When you add the html to the tiny text, it is pretty much worthless. Cycling through one page at a time with no skip provision is very awkward for large accounts. Contacts names are displayed as their real name, not the familiar screen name, this is oftentimes confusing (and the buddy icons are too small) Things I like: 1. The interface is very familiar and looks good. 2. The ability to change the thumbnail size *big thumbs up* 3. Big huge pictures (but you have to wait for them to load) 4. In the big huge picture mode, you get a clear thumbnail while the big pic loads- this allows you to skip the pic immediately without waiting for the entire large pic to load if, from the thumbnail, you decide you don’t really wnat to see it. Flickr could learn a LOT from this. 5. One click to go to the actual Flickr page 6. Over all, loading pix is s.l.o.w. but still better than the new flickr and it doesn’t jump around like flickr does

review

overall this app seems pretty solid. definatley better than the web-interface. Developer is quick to respond with tech help as well! once the app can implement multipe user logins, as well as a bit more reliable uploading…it will be a 4 1/2 start app!

Crashes constantly

It’s really a pain, prepping a batch of photos, only to have all your work lost when the app hangs trying to add a tag (when all previous tags, of course, gave no problems at all). Randomly crashes and loses all progress.

Pricey But Unique and Works

Quite expensive for an app, but it is the only one that could do what I want. Relatively easily lets me upload both photos and videos with reasonable control. Surprisingly could not do this with other apps, many can’t handle videos. - Eric

Amazing desktop client for Flickr

I use flickr for managing my company’s event photography. Until now, I have struggled with organizing, uploading, editing, and downloading photos from our account. The app is simple to use and allows me to navigae through our Flickr streat, organize, rename, tag photos, etc. without messing with the clucky Flickr interface! It is a perfect solution for anyone that needs a work around for Flickr. An added bonus is the quick customer service. I had a problem setting up my account and the creator of the app replied within 5 minutes with a clear description of how to solve my problem. I was up and running a minute later. THANK YOU!!

Doesn’t work

Unable to authorize my flickr account, so it’s useless app.
